Event Overview:
Trek the Trail is Shire of Mundaring's premier free walking and cycling event that takes place every September.
Event Description:
Join Trek the Trail 2011 on Sunday 18 September along Railway Reserves Heritage Trail.
The picturesque township of Wooroloo will be the starting point with a 12km walk or cycle into historic Chidlow.
The event has something for everyone, physical activity, the arts, history and heritage and the beauty of the natural environment. Get your 'Be active Passport' before you start off at 9am for cyclists and 9.30am for walkers. This booklet includes highlights and activities that you can see and participate in along the journey.
The Trail is a wildlife corridor creating connections between parks and nature reserves with the appeal of natural bush land, wildflowers in full bloom, changing landscapes and unfolding history. The Trail is a gradual incline which levels out at about the half way point.
Celebrate the end of Trek with live entertainment and a sumptuous selection of food and beverages.
Trek is eagerly anticipated by groups and individuals from all over Western Australia and is suited to all ages and abilities. Shire of Mundaring encourages everyone to be involved in Trek the Trail and continually upgrades Railway Reserves Heritage Trail to improve the quality of access and facilities.
This event is free to enter and non-competitive, so take as long as you like to finish the route or just complete a section of it as there will be several points along the Trek where you can catch a shuttle back to the finish point.
