Event Times:
10:00am - 04:30pm

Location:
City of Swan, Swan Valley

Event Overview:
Look at your cuppa in a new light!

Event Description:
Next time you pick up a painted cup, saucer or plate, take a little moment to think about the artist who created that piece and the intricate work that went into applying the colours before firing in the kiln.

The West Australian Guild of China Painters is celebrating this fine art at its annual exhibition of members work to take place at the historic Guildford Town Hall on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May between 10:00am and 4:30pm.

To push the boundaries of China painting a little further and inspire innovation and some fascinating artistic interpretations, all artists have been given the theme ‘In a new light’. The exhibition will feature over 500 pieces of porcelain.

Entry is free and escorted tours are offered to the public at 11:00am and 2:00pm daily. Work will be available for sale.

The Guild has been promoting the art of China Painting in Western Australia since 1964 and its annual exhibition displays work from artists around the state. The Exhibition is also an opportunity to view the Guild’s ‘Collectables’, a porcelain art collection which reflects trends in China painting over the last 40 years.
