Wine
Both the Swan Valley and Perth Hills are beautiful wine regions, with picturesque vineyards creating award winning blends.
As Western Australia's oldest wine region, the Swan Valley has a long established reputation for quality boutique wines, specialising in verdelho, shiraz, cabernet and fortifieds.
With the first vines planted in the 1880s, the Perth Hills is a well established wine region. Boutique and family vineyards offer the opportunity to meet and chat with the growers at cellar doors, just another part of the charm of the relaxed Perth Hills lifestyle.
Many boutique wineries only sell wine direct to customers, so visit the cellar door to take home your special drop.
Food and wine trails are a great way to sample the best a region has to offer, and remember to nominate a responsible skipper for the day to ensure a safe trip.
Beer and spirits
The Swan Valley is home to more than just wine, with five boutique breweries and two distilleries.
Taste the quality in these hand crafted, traditionally made beer, rum, brandy, vodka and many more spirits that you won't find elsewhere.
For a creative twist, the Swan Valley brewers often use seasonal produce to enhance the flavour, so there is something new to try when you return.
Remember to nominate a responsible skipper for the day to ensure a safe trip.
Fresh produce
With a veritable feast of fresh local produce available in the Perth Hills and Swan Valley, each season offers new delights.
Many producers specialise in finding new flavours, preservative free or bio-organic growing, so trying new tastes is a great part of the local food experience.
Year round attractions include sampling chocolate, coffee, nougat, honey, ice cream, olives and extra virgin olive oil, chutneys and preserves.
Throughout the year, seasonal offerings range from fresh asparagus and crisp vegetable to chillies, berries, melons and orchard fruits, so there is a new food to taste each time you return.
