Western Australia's wildflower season is a dazzling spectacle not to be missed. The majestic national parks and native bushland surrounds in the Perth Hills and Swan Valley are home to a range of trails alive with vibrant wildflower experiences.
With peak viewing season spanning several months around August to November, springtime is the perfect season to see the array of beautiful wildflowers on show in the Kalamunda and Mundaring Perth Hills region or relaxing rural setting of the Swan Valley and Gidgegannup.

To really get up close to wildlife - take to the water! Cruise or kayak along the Swan River for a unique perspective on wetlands, waterways and wildlife.
Eric Singleton Bird Sanctuary near the Swan River is a great place to watch for native birds.
Or for bigger birds, check out the 'Birds of Prey' show at Whiteman Park.
Whiteman Park is also home to a wildlife sanctuary. Learn about native animals including koalas, wombats, camels, reptiles, dingos and kangaroos (including Western Reds, Eastern Greys and the rare White Kangaroo). You can even take photos with your new native friends!
The Perth Hills is home to a wildlife sanctuary, the Karakamia Sanctuary, which offers interesting educational programs, such as the night-time spotlight walks (bookings required).
The Perth Hills Centre, in Beelu (Mundaring) National Park, has informative and friendly Visitor Centre staff with information on wildlife, trails and recreational opportunities.
The Perth Hills Centre is also home to Nearer to Nature, which provides the community with fun interactive activities to enhance your nature experience. You could also get the chance to meet the adorable marsupials currently in care.

Perth Observatory is Australia's oldest continuously operating professional observatory, providing conducting international research and inspiring budding astronomers in Western Australia for over 100 years. Bookings must be made in order to attend its star viewing nights or day time guided tours.
