Held annually in the Shire of Mundaring hills area, this event is free and open to everyone who is keen on cycling or bush walking as a leisure activity. Ideally timed for Spring, participants can enjoy the vibrant wildflowers in season.

Trek the Trail explores a different section of the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail each year. The 2009 Trail route has just been announced to run between Mundaring Sculpture Park and Darlington Reserve. The Trail spans 9 kilometres and passes through the historic townships of Mahogany Creek and Glen Forrest.

The appeal of natural bushland, wildflowers in full bloom and changing landscape will be a feature of the Trek. Along the way, participants can enjoy historical displays as well as sculptural artworks and interactive activities to inspire them.

A community celebration is also a key feature at the end of Trek. A vibrant community fair on Darlington Oval includes live entertainment, delicious gastronomic fare, cultural market stalls and an array of activities and amusements, making this occasion a great day out for all ages, families and walking & cycling groups. This year the community fair will also have a BMX Jam Session to entice more young people to take part.

Trek is a not for profit event, open to all and is non competitive.
