Explore the numerous historical buildings located within easy reach of the meandering waters of the Swan River by bicycle or car. Most of the Swan River foreshore areas offer picnic and toilet facilities to allow for a leisurely break while exploring local heritage attractions such as Tranby House and the monthly artist markets held at Ellis House.

 

Swan River Heritage Trail
Commencing at Tranby House in Maylands, this 14.7 kilometre trail traverses several foreshores and passes several buildings of historical significance.

 Swan Valley

Explore the quaint village of Guildford with a variety of walk trails to discover its charming colonial architecture, monthly heritage market, art shops and galleries and the James Street antique strip. Alternatively discover the history behind Perth’s Valley of Taste by bicycle with assistance from the interpretive elements located along the Swan Valley cycle trail.

 

Railway Reserves Heritage Trail (loop)
Challenging 40 kilometre loop trail that stretches from Bellevue to Mt Helena and covers a wide range of terrains with scenic views and numerous points of significance.

Swan Valley Heritage Cycle Trail
Designed with all cyclists in mind, the ten kilometre cycle trail passes a variety of tourist attractions with newly installed interpretive elements.

Historic Guildford Heritage Walk Trails Map
Commencing at the Swan Valley Visitor Centre, three circuit walks range from 450 metres to 1.8 kilometres through the antique strip past historical buildings.

 Perth Hills

Discover the local arts, crafts, culture and heritage hidden in the hills’ tranquil forest surroundings. A range of walk and cycle bushland trails explore numerous sites of historical significance including the original rail formation and the remarkable engineering feat behind the Golden Pipeline. Local town sites also offer monthly art and craft markets, art galleries, an arts centre, a museum and a history village. 

 

Kep Track
An off-road 75 kilometre track commencing opposite the Mundaring Weir Hotel and passes through small settlements and towns before concluding in Northam.

Railway Reserves Heritage Trail (loop)
A
challenging, 40 kilometer loop trail, that stretches from Bellevue to Mt Helena and covers a wide range of terrains with scenic views and numerous points of significance.

Bilgoman Well Heritage Trail
Commencing from the Bilgoman Olympic Pool in Darlington, this bushland 100 metre walk trail passes by an old convict depot and a historic well.
 

O’Connor Trail (loop)
Commencing from the Mundaring Weir Hall, this 5.3 kilometre trail follows a historic railway formation past a lookout with great views of Lake C Y O’Connor.

Weir Walk
This 1.9 kilometre walk trail runs from the commemorative No 1 Pump Station across the weir wall, along the original railway zig zag and beside the Golden Pipeline.
