Perth Hills trails

With its national parks, rolling valleys and delightful village centres, the Perth Hills offer an enticing getaway just a 45 minute drive east of Perth.

Stroll through the charming villages of Mundaring and Kalamunda, explore the natural beauty of the native jarrah and marri forests in the numerous national parks, admire seasonal wildflowers and gaze at the flowing creeks and waterfalls. You can also sample award winning food and wine and shop for a special treasure at the monthly markets and specialty stores.

Walkers seeking a challenge will find a range of bushwalks in the Perth Hills including the multi-use  Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, the Eagle View Walk Trail and the iconic Bibbulmun Track, one of the world's great long distance walks stretching nearly 1,000 kilometres from Kalamunda to Albany.

The Munda Biddi Trail is a world class mountain biking experience and extends for 498 kilometres from Mundaring to Nannup in the south-west.

Riders can explore the Cycle Perth's Eastern Region Perth Hills Road Rides  or on mountain bike by  Cycle Perth's Eastern Region Perth Hills Mountain Bike Rides following the connecting Cycle Perth's Eastern Region routes.

Discover the history behind CY O'Connor's water pipeline on the multi-use Kep Track, Weir Walk, O'Connor Trail  or the Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail, a 650 kilometre drive trail which stretches from Mundaring Weir to the goldfields.

While you're in the Perth Hills, why not indulge along the picturesque Perth Hills wine trails. The Heart of the Hills Wine Trail and the Bickley and Carmel Valleys Wine Trail both link boutique wineries, gourmet pizzerias, cafes, fine-dining restaurants amidst the scenery of orchards and vineyards.

Phone (08) 9295 0202 or visit the visitor centre at the Old School, 7225 Great Eastern Highway in Mundaring. The visitor centre is open weekdays and Saturdays from 9:30am to 4pm, and from 10:30am to 2:30pm on Sundays and Public Holidays.
